The Santa Maria del Mar is one of the most astonishing historical sites
of Barcelona. Constructed around the end of the 14 th century, this
marvelous church exemplifies the Gothic styles and outlines of
Catalonia.
Featured with its striking façade and huge dimensions, there are
distinctive portraits of saints that must be observed at the entrances of
the church. Several travel packages to Spain would include visits to
Barcelona and this magnificent church.
The interior of the church is never less notable than anything else about
it. With the outline of a basilica, with three aisles, the huge pillars of the
church are wonderful, especially when you view them while the sunlight
penetrate the structure from the upper windows.
