The Buda Castle in Hungary

By Seif Kamel
The Buda Castle was the royal residence of the kings of Hungary for
hundreds of years. The original complex was constructed at the
middle of the 13th century. Afterwards, this huge palace we view
today was built around the middle of the 18th century.
Today, the Buda Castle is among the most marvelous historical sites
included in several travel packages to Hungary. This is also where the
interesting the Hungarian National Gallery and The Budapest History
Museum are located.
The castle is in fact huge and impressive with numerous sections,
rooms, and chapels. The most remarkable among them include the
castle chapel built in the 14ht century, the Gothic hall, which is one of
the unique and notable constructions of the secular architecture, in
addition to the large and marvelous King's Cellar.
