The Nidaros Cathedral in Norway

By Seif Kamel
The Nidaros Cathedral is among the largest and most impressive in
the region. This explains that long extended period of time through
which it was constructed. The cathedral was built between 11 th and
the 14 th centuries. Today, it is one of the most interesting sites to be
included in a travel package to Norway.
Situated in the city of Trondheim, the Nidaros Cathedral witnessed
many alternations and modifications in its leadership since its
establishment more than 600 years ago. It followed the state
Church of Norway after its foundation in 1537.
Among the interesting facts about the Nidaros Cathedral is that it
hosts two organs. The first was installed in 1930 and the other in
1962. However, as many other sections of the cathedral, they were
rebuilt and restored several times. Many tourists who travel to
Norway are keen to explore the cathedral.
