The Spanish Steps in Rome

By Seif Kamel
Situated near the Piazza Navona Arena, the Spanish steps were
established at the beginning of the 18 th century, in 1726. The Spanish
Steps grab the attention of numerous tourists who travel to Italy.
Named after the Spanish Steps, a remarkable church was established at
the end of the 15 th century. Named the Church of Scalinata Della Trinità
dei Monti, it was founded by the French to be used by Catholics who
live in Rome.
A remarkable historical fountain, which dates to the 17 th century, 1629 to
be more exact, dominates the center of the arena where the Spanish
Steps is located. Many tourists who visit Italy are keen to take pictures
with the fountain at the background.
