The Burgos Cathedral, or the Cathedral of Saint Mary, is located in a
city that holds the same name, Burgos. The construction works of the
cathedral started in 1221 with distinctive Gothic style and outlines.
Today, it is among the unique historical sites commonly included in
many travel packages to Spain.
However, the most unparalleled sections of the Burgos Cathedral were
built during the 15 th and 16 th centuries including the remarkable façade,
the Chapel of Constable, and many other elegant features.
The façade of St. Mary with its unique pointed arches represent the most
matchless exterior sections of the cathedral. There are several portals
that highlight the entrance. Moreover, many portals were rebuilt in
various periods of time. Today, numerous tourists who travel to Spain
visit the cathedral.
