Zagreb is in fact the largest cities of Croatia and the capital of the country. With more than 1.5 million inhabitants, Zagreb plays a significant role in the political, economic, and touristic life in Croatia. It
is actually where many travel packages to Croatia begin.
Among the most interesting places to explore in Zagreb, there is the Plitvice Lakes National Park. With an area of more than 30 hectares, the park was included in the UNESCO Natural sites back in 1979. Today, it is considered among the most appealing touristic sites in Croatia.
There is also the famous Cathedral of Zagreb which is the landmark of the city. Built around the 11 th century, the Cathedral of Zagreb is famous for its tall bell tower and many distinctive ornaments. The saying goes, if you only have the chance to visit one historical site in Croatia, it is surely the Zagreb Cathedral.
